Aligning business goals and behaviours that requires commitment and buy-in from every employee 

Our recent workshop at Clovelly Golf Club was a fabulous way to bring together the various business divisions within the truly picturesque Clovelly Golf Course. The opportunity to engage with a cross section of divisions, staff and management during the workshops and break away sessions allowed us to be guided by their needs and goals in defining the organisations pillars as well as their 'guiding' essence, namely ....."to be Cape Town's favorite golf experience".

To then witness the results unfold on a day to day basis across the business, is truly heartwarming,  where enthusiasm, ownership and a genuine desire to deliver are now the order of the day.  

We have hosted this impactful workshop at several other business - from schools to hotel groups. The process involves a deep-dive into the organisation concerned  to ensure that all future activities and behaviours are aligned towards a common purpose.

Communication around challenges and difficulties has become more open, this has allowed in some instances for teams to deal with challenges more effectively and focus on enhanced service delivery. By having the teams focused on a singular essence of our organisation the service levels has improved.

In the beginning of the process the goal was to empower staff to better understand the strategic goals and values of Clovelly, and also build buy in and dedication to achieving and living these. While I was not entirely sure of what the final tangible outcome would be, with the input and assistance from the team at MillerT.I.M.E , we were able to breakdown the high-level strategic documents into focused , meaningful, operational values.

 

They  were great in summarising the high level material and presenting it effectively to the entire team, from junior level to senior management, along the way allowing for inputs from the team to shape and agree on departmental values aligned to those of the Club.

 

We now have a set of comprehensive working documents which can be used for inductions of new or re-training of existing staff, ensuring a harmonious work environment focused on achieving common goals.
