Burnout isn’t a badge of honour.

If you’re exhausted….this is a sign.
Let us be honest. We live in a society that lurves busyness, loves all the tools that allow us to multitask. Being “busy” is seen as the benchmark of success. But is it though? Being busy doesn’t equal being alive. Burn out has become so normal, we don’t even know we are in it.

-
You feel tired after sleeping.
-
You’re irritable, anxious, or foggy.

The reality is that post covid, the world has fundamentally changed. During the pandemic, the US pumped $4 trillion of fiscal stimulus into its economy, and central banks worldwide injected about $22 trillion into the global economy through asset purchases and emergency lending. These are staggering amounts of money and the reality is the global economy has not yet fully recovered from Covid.

But revenue for the “main cabin” (basic economy) fell 7%, a steeper drop than the 4% decline seen in the previous quarter.

So, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
These are very real reasons for our stress, anxiety and worry but how do we balance it all? When do we start listening to our nervous system when it is asking for help? Almost 90% of South Africans with mental health issues receive little to no care.
We are inundated with “negative” news both locally and globally, via social media, TV, radio, and general conversations, so we are constantly living in a heightened sense of worry & anxiety.
